ARIZONA SEX OFFENDERS
The purpose of the Arizona sex offender information website is to provide information to the public concerning the location of sex offenders within Arizona. The site is NOT intended to supplant the community notification process, but rather, it allows the criminal justice community to promote public awareness concerning the potential threat that sex offenders pose to Arizona citizens. An informed public is a safer public!
Realizing that it is impossible to notify every citizen about a sex offender's presence in their community, this site will empower you to obtain information and take the appropriate precautions. Furnishing the public with information regarding convicted sex offenders is a critical step towards encouraging the public to protect themselves from potential future acts.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has established this site according to the requirements of A.R.S. 13-3827. DPS is responsible for maintaining the site and annually verifying the addresses of all registered sex offenders.

WATER SAFETY & DROWNING PREVENTION
Too often, firefighters hear people say, “I only turned my back for a few seconds.” Sadly, just a few seconds is all it takes for a child to drown. Drowning is one of the leading causes of death for children under age four in Arizona. Most children drown in their own pools, but many children drown in canals, buckets, toilets, bathtubs and ponds. Near-drowning calls are also tragic. Near-drownings can cause permanent brain damage. Drowning and near-drowning can be prevented! Anyone involved with young children needs to be aware of this tragedy.

YOUTH ALCOHOL & EDUCATION ENFORCEMENT SQUAD
There are many problems facing municipalities at any given time, especially in large cities. The Squad’s purpose is to target the sources of the underage-drinking problem, and the squad’s success may well increase interest by other jurisdictions to institute similar programs.
By combining education strategies with enforcement programs, the "zero tolerance" message will quickly become clear throughout the community. By involving multiple stakeholders in the program, that message will be louder, spread faster, form deeper roots, and have longer lasting effects. By taking a pro-active enforcement stance and conducting regular compliance inspections at off-sale liquor establishments, there should be a reduction in the percentage of sales to covert underage buyers, in relation to attempted buys. This would give a clear indication of the program’s negative impact on the availability of alcohol to underage individuals at retail outlets. Similarly a reduction in the percentage of underage subjects who consumed alcohol at parties targeted by enforcement efforts, in relation to those that did not consume, would clearly indicate the positive impact of the program. By impacting these two specific areas of concern, a reduction of youth fatalities and injuries directly related to alcohol use can be anticipated. By working as a team with the stakeholders, the police/community partnership formed for this project will have a positive impact on the harm experienced by the communtiy as a whole.
During the past year alone, the squad has conducted classes and presentations reaching 30,000 high school students. Our presentations have been extremely sought after by local businesses, as well. Our program is adaptable to any group interested in the information.
